“It’s not like love at first sight, really. It’s more like… gravity moves. When you see her, suddenly it’s not the earth holding you here anymore. She does. And nothing matters more than her. And you would do anything for her, be anything for her… You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that’s a protector, or a lover, or a friend, or a brother.”—
Wow, what a few weeks I have had. Giving class to kids in high school, world cup soccer, getting uncapped internet, painting my wall red…Ha! Random bursts of creativity all around!
Painting my wall red is something that has been a long time coming. My mom has always wanted a red wall in her house and so I offered mine and now it looks pretty rad. Woo!
What do you think?
Last week Thursday I went to a match of the FIFA 2010 World Cup Soccer and it was INSANE! Argentina vs South Korea. Now I have been to many rugby matches and I though those people were mad. The Argentinians have showed me a whole new level of passion. Beating drums, chanting songs over and over, blowing vuvuzelas, dancing on the rails and chairs and hugging random people in celebration of a goal. When we got to the stadium, it was all orange because that’s the official color of the tournament, when the match started, it was all blue. There wasn’t a spot of orange anywhere. It’s beautiful and amazing to see. An experience I will never forget!
So with the uncapped internet I have been spending most of my time behind my laptop looking for everything I can lay my hands on. And my proudest discovery is that of Cobus Potgieter.
Many of you might not know who he is, but he is a South African and he is an insanely awesome drum player. I mean seriously insanely awesome. He covers everyone from Kelly Clarkson to System of a Down and he even adds his own twist to some of the original tracks out there, like his rock remix of Owl City’s Fireflies.
I’ll post a video of him in a bit, so be sure to check him out, he’s really awesome!
So yeah, that’s been my past few weeks. It’s been fun and awesome, and I’ve done all on my own. Best accomplishment so far!
Well,i only like to say a thing to you...I don't know if this story happened to you,and I did not really understand - but I can say: It made me cry.I have reading every single line with tears in my eyes; that really touched me. In a good way, and I hope Renee is well - she deserves (:
Thank you. But the story isn’t mine. It’s from a charity organization or just a safe place. They’re called To Write love on her arms. I read story when I was younger and it’s just been with me ever since. So I like to keep it close by, to help me remember. :)
I am in the mood ramble. And since I have no one to ramble to, then I’ll ramble to myself on here.
What does it all mean? What’s the point in studying, and making something of yourself if in the end you’re just going to die and it all goes to nothing. I mean, we stress ourselves out, we hammer on ourselves to be the best and failing is never an option, and if you do fail, you go into a depressed state about it.
Why put yourself through all that pain and all that anguish when it all just goes to shit anyway?
Is it because this is our idea of living? Paining ourselves day after day when there is a beautiful world out there for us to explore, adventures to live through, friends and family to be with.
I don’t have to answer to this. I don’t why I pain myself so much day after day if it’s all just going to nothing.
But I do know, that if God wants me to do this, and obviously He does, then I’ll do it. And I’ll do my best at it. If that’s not good enough for my professors and the people in the high chairs then that is just too bad. And failure? Hey, I am preaching about adventures, maybe experiencing that could be one.
So I am giving in. I am not going to ask myself the question in the title any more. I’ll work hard and I’ll make my own adventures while doing it. With friends and family. Two birds with one stone.
I do have one last say on the matter…
Dewey Finn: You want me to teach you something? What? You want to learn something? Alright, here’s a useful lesson: Give up! Just quit! Because in this life you can’t win. Yeah, you can try, but in the end your just gonna loose, BIG TIME! Because the world is run by the man! Frankie : Who? Dewey: The man. Oh, you don’t know the man? The man’s everywhere: in the White House, down the hall, Miss Mullins; she’s the man! And the man ruined the ozone, and he’s burning down the Amazon and he kidnapped Shamu and put her in a chlorine tank! Okay! And there used to be a way to stick it to the man, it was called rock ‘n roll. But guess what? Oh no! The man had to ruin that too with a little thing called MTV! So don’t waste your time trying to make anything cool or pure or awesome ‘cause the man’s just gonna call you a fat washed up loser and crush your soul. So do yourself a favor and just give up!
